Texas Toast Breakfast Casserole

  • Grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
  • Layer the bread slices in the bottom of the pan, slicing as needed to fit.
  • Layer the cooked sausage on top of the bread.
  • Then crumble the bacon over the sausage.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese over top of the bacon.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the entire pan, making sure everything is good and soaked with egg.
  • Cover the casserole with aluminum foil, and chill in the refrigerator overnight.
  • When ready to bake, remove the casserole from the fridge, and pre-heat the oven to 350° F.
  • Bake, covered, at 350° F for 45 minutes, or 'til the eggs are cooked thru. (Oven times may vary.) Then remove from the oven.
  • Sprinkle with green onions before slicing and serving. Serve while warm.

Notes

Store this casserole covered, or in an airtight container, in the fridge for 3-4 days. You can re-heat in the microwave or oven.
