Ingredients

  • 12 ounces cranberries
  • 1 cup pure cane sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest *

Instructions

  1. Add the sugar and water to a large saucepan, and bring to a boil.
  2. Add the cranberries; then return the mixture to a boil.
  3. Lower the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Add in the orange zest, simmering for another 5 minutes or so.

  5. Pour the cranberry sauce into a serving bowl, cover, and allow to cool.
  6. Refrigerate or serve.

Recipe Notes

*Orange zest is optional; if you'd rather not have that citrus flavor to your cranberry sauce, just leave it out.
