Pre-heat oven to 400° and grease muffin tins.
Mix dry ingredients together.
Melt butter and add to dry ingredients.
Beat egg and milk together, also mixing into dry ingredients. If more milk is needed, add ¼ cup at a time to dough mixture; dough should be the consistency of a stiff biscuit dough.
Finally, add raisins to the mixture.
Add dough, by the spoonful, to muffin tins.
Bake at 400° for about 30-40 minutes, or until tops of scones are golden.
Serve while warm and enjoy! You can also drizzle with a simple powdered sugar frosting, if desired.
