SALTED BUTTER

from Heavy Cream

You'll need

– Heavy Cream – Sea Salt – Blender – Stand Mixer – Mixing Bowl – Butter Stick Molds – Wax Paper

If using raw whole milk, start by skimming the cream line off of the milk and into a separate container.

If you don’t have any raw milk with the cream, heavy whipping cream from the store will work just fine!

Add the cream to a butter churn, churning until the butter is separated from the milk.

Remove the butter and squeeze out as much milk as possible. A rolling pin makes this step much easier!

Alternate cooling the butter down in a bowl of ice water to keep it firm. Keep squeezing, then cooling.

Once you’ve gotten as much milk out as possible, add sea salt to the top of the butter and work it in.

Press the butter into your butter molds and freeze the butter sticks for 3-4 hours.

Once frozen, remove the sticks from the butter mold and wrap in wax paper.

That’s it! Just store your homemade butter in the freezer ’til ready to use.
