Mummy Whoopie Pies, the perfect treat for a Halloween party. Chocolate cookies sandwiched together with vanilla icing, candy strips, and candy eyeballs.
Mummy Whoopie Pies are one of my favorite Halloween treats. Using my grandma's recipe for chocolate sandwich cookies, I grab a few extra ingredients to give them a spookier look this time of year.
In the past, I've used a Mummy Cupcake Decorating Kit that I found in the Halloween section at the store (more ideas below, in case you can't find the kit). You can also find candy eyeballs in the cake decorating section at the store.
Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year because it kinda kicks off the holiday season. Everything feels a little different this time of year, a little cozier. What better way to spend a chilly day indoors than to make a batch of spooky mummies?

How to Make Mummy Whoopie Pies
- Make a batch of Grandma's Chocolate Sandwich Cookies per the recipe.
- Once the cookies are baked, frost one side and sandwich the cookies together to form a whoopie pie.
- Wrap each whoopie pie in white candy strips to form a mummy. Add a little frosting to each end, so the strip will stick to the cookie.
- Finally, add a dab of icing to the back of a candy eyeball, and set in place on your mummy. Then add another eyeball.
- That's all there is to it! Easy peasy and oh so cute.
These Halloween treats are the perfect snacks to share while you're watching old episodes of your favorite Halloween cartoons with your kids.

Tools you may need to make Mummy Whoopie Pies
Cookie Cooling Racks – I use my cooling racks both for cooling and for temporary storage while I'm working on projects like this.
Mummy Cupcake Decorating Kit – I found this at Walmart. If you can't find it, you could either use Sour Belt Candies (if you can find them in white, or you could use any color really), cut Stacker Marshmallows into strips, or use White Decorating Icing.
Candy Eyeballs – for the eyes on all your mummies.

These look so fun and tasty! Where did you purchase the white candy strips? Can you give the brand or a couple of options?
Hi Jill, I bought the candy strips in a pack that Wilton used to sell at Walmart. I haven’t been able to find that kit anymore, so instead I’d recommend buying candy strips you can get at just about any candy store. I don’t know if they’ll have white, but you could even use orange or green. They’d still be festive for Halloween.
