How to make delicious Instant Pot hard boiled eggs that are easy to peel and perfect for all your favorite snacks and meals. Quick and easy pressure cooker recipe!
Eggs are a dietary staple in our home, mainly because they have so many health benefits and because they're one of the main foods we can all eat and enjoy. Instant Pot hard boiled eggs are one of our favorites, especially for a quick breakfast on the go or an easy chicken salad recipe with eggs.
Even while camping at Big Bend, we found that making boiled eggs at night saved a lot of time for the next morning's breakfast. All these boiled eggs got me thinking it might be nice to do a series all about how to cook hard boiled eggs.
So, this is the first post in this series… In the coming weeks, we'll also learn how to steam eggs, how to make them on the stove, and how to cook hard boiled eggs in the oven. I'm also toying with the idea of trying out this egg cooker, as well, just to give you the scoop on how it works.
Hopefully, all the recipes will be easy peel, but we'll see how it goes. First, let's start with pressure cooker hard boiled eggs in the Instant Pot.

Tips for how to make Instant Pot hard boiled eggs:
The only ingredients you need are eggs and water. You'll also want to place a trivet down inside your Instant Pot.
If you're using fresh chicken eggs, wash the eggs before cooking. We used store bought for this recipe, because our ladies are giving us just enough eggs for breakfast right now. You could say they're slacking.
When the trivet is placed down inside your Instant Pot, pour the water in.
Place an egg in each egg holder on the trivet.
Close and seal your Instant Pot. Press “Manual twice (or “Pressure Cook” if you have a different Instant Pot), and set for 8 minutes. Then just let it go.
We recommend letting the Instant Pot valve naturally release. Once it has, you can open up the pot and remove the eggs with tongs, placing them in a medium sized bowl.
Add cold water to the eggs in the bowl, covering them over with water. Let them soak and cool for about 1 minute.
Peel the eggs right away, but keep cold water close so you can dip the egg if needed; the last thing you want to do is burn your fingers. The longer you wait, though, the harder they'll be to peel.
I usually use a table knife to kinda crack the egg shell and then pull the peeling right off. Rinse off the egg and set it aside on a clean plate.
Once they're all peeled, you're ready to use them in your favorite recipes or eat them as a snack! And they really do make a good protein-packed breakfast on the go.
