Fall Apple Crisp {Recipe Box}

Another one of my favorite apple recipes coming to you today, in celebration of fall and all that it entails. This recipe is from a handwritten card I found in my grandma’s recipe box and has the name “Ruby” on it. This apple crisp paired really well with Andy’s vanilla frozen custard.

Below is a printable recipe, without photos, for your convenience. The first step is to sift together the dry ingredients (Jaden helped me out with this step).

Then mix dry ingredients with an unbeaten egg, forming a topping mixture; set aside.

Grease a 6×10 pan (I used a 9×13). Core, peel, and slice about 6-7 apples.

Add apple slices to pan.

Pour/crumble topping mixture over the apples.

Melt 1/2 stick butter, and pour over top of everything.

Bake at 425 degrees until brown, probably about 30 to 35 minutes. Remove from oven, pair with ice cream if desired, and enjoy!

    • Theresa, apple pie reminds me of my grandmother too, and even my mom. Apple pie was always a family favorite. I love that, “warm & sweet with a little spice.”
